The African American Leadership Foundation (AALF) is a 501(c)(3) organization established in March 2020. Through various workshops, meetings, and social gatherings, emerging Black leaders consistently voiced a need for mentorship, leadership development tailored to the unique challenges they face, and increased access to opportunities.

Building on these discussions, a peer group of both emerging and established leaders explored the idea of creating a leadership recognition and enrichment program. The goal was to ensure that a committed group of future leaders could emerge as potential successors to today’s seasoned leadership.

To achieve this, the community recognized the importance of acknowledging their contributions, using that recognition to inspire others on the sidelines to engage, and investing in their future leadership development. This includes providing exposure to experienced mentors, along with enrichment opportunities involving regional, state, and national leaders.
